Utah Water Damage Services isn’t just a restoration company. We’re part of the fabric of Salt Lake City. Our owner, August Wachter, believes that building a business and building a community aren’t separate things — they’re the same thing. That’s why UWDS is proud to invest in the programs and people that make this city a great place to raise a family.
August Wachter is the President of Foothill Youth Baseball Association and the driving force behind uniting Salt Lake City’s youth baseball leagues into a single, unified program. Under his leadership, the league has grown into one of the largest youth baseball organizations in the city, giving hundreds of families access to quality, affordable baseball across both spring and fall seasons. When the city raised field rental fees and threatened to price families out of the sport, August didn’t just complain about it. He organized the community, met personally with city council members, and led the effort that got those fees reduced. The mayor recognized his advocacy in a public address.UWDS is the presenting sponsor of Foothill Youth Baseball because this isn’t a corporate sponsorship — it’s personal. The same person who restores your home is the same person making sure your kids have a place to play.

Not every family can afford registration fees, and no kid should have to sit out because of money. Utah Water Damage Services funds the Youth Sports Scholarship to cover registration costs for families who need help getting their kids on the field. If your family needs assistance, just reach out through the league during registration and let us know what division your child is signing up for. No complicated application, no hoops to jump through. Because the whole point of building something in this community is making sure everyone can be part of it.
Youth baseball is where it started, but it’s not where it ends. UWDS looks for ways to show up for Salt Lake City families wherever we can — from school events and neighborhood cleanups to local charity drives and other youth sports. If you have a community event or organization you think we should know about, reach out. We’re always looking for ways to give back to the neighborhoods we serve.
