Utah Water Damage Services was founded on a simple idea: when something goes wrong in your home, you should be able to call someone you trust.UWDS is owned and operated by August Wachter. August is a Salt Lake City dad who spends his weekdays restoring homes after water damage, mold, and disasters. On evenings and weekends, he’s on the baseball fields as President of Foothill Youth Baseball Association, where he’s helped grow the program into one of the largest youth baseball organizations in Salt Lake City. He’s currently leading the effort to unite the city’s youth leagues under one Salt Lake City Baseball banner so every kid in the area has a place to play, compete, and grow. When the city raised field rental fees and threatened to make youth baseball unaffordable for families, August organized the community and personally lobbied city council members until those fees were reduced. The mayor recognized his effort publicly. That’s the kind of person who answers the phone when you call UWDS. Someone who doesn’t just work in this community — he fights for it.
As a licensed general contractor, August built UWDS to handle every phase of restoration from start to finish. Emergency water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, and complete reconstruction — all under one roof, one company, one point of contact. You don’t get handed off to a different contractor for the rebuild. Our technicians are IICRC and AMRT certified, we hold Utah DEQ and EPA certifications for mold and lead work, and we’re licensed, bonded, and fully insured. We work with every major insurance carrier and know how to navigate the claims process so you don’t have to figure it out alone. But what really sets us apart isn’t our certifications or our license. It’s the fact that the person running this company is the same person you see at the ballpark, the same person who fought to keep your kids’ registration fees affordable, and the same person who’ll be here next season, next year, and for years to come. We’re not going anywhere. This is home.
Community First — We live and work in the neighborhoods we serve. Our investment in this community goes far beyond our business. From youth sports to local partnerships, we’re here because this is home.Family-Oriented — Your home is where your family’s life happens. We treat every job like we’re working on our own house, because the families we serve are the same ones we see at the ballpark.Integrity in Everything — Whether it’s fighting an insurance company for what a homeowner deserves, standing in front of City Council to keep youth sports affordable, or running a fair program for hundreds of kids, we do what’s right even when it’s harder. No shortcuts, no compromises.Excellence as a Standard — We don’t cut corners on a restoration job, and we don’t cut corners on the field. High standards aren’t aspirational — they’re the baseline for everything we do.

August responded incredibly fast when we had water coming in through a window during heavy rainstorms — I called in a panic, and their team was at my door within the hour. "
hey were knowledgeable and quick and kept their prices reasonable, too. Would definitely use them again (but really hope I don't have to).
They monitored moisture, pulled carpet, removed baseboards, tile, everything that was ruined. I am so grateful to have had their help through this process.
